About SapienCE

Every individual possesses SapienCE: a unique inner guidance system reflecting our extraordinary, one-in-400-trillion nature. Yet, as we grow, we often learn to silence this voice. Instead of following our instincts and passions, we’re taught to conform to predetermined paths—sitting still, learning prescribed lessons, and striving for goals we were never asked if we wanted. This disconnect stifles our innate curiosity and potential, leaving our “inner fire” unlit.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”

— William Butler Yeats

“Half of what you’ll learn in medical school will be shown to be either wrong or out of date within five years of graduation; the trouble is that nobody can tell you which half, so the important thing to learn is how to learn on your own.”

— David Sackett

At SapienCE, our mission is to help medical professionals rediscover and amplify their Inner Sage. Through Reflective Practice™, powered by Learner+, we transform Continuing Education (CE) into a journey of self-discovery and inspiration. By reconnecting with your unique guidance system, you unlock critical thinking, foster meaningful learning, and ignite personal, professional, and collective growth.

True evolution in healthcare starts with individuals who are engaged, curious, and inspired. Earning CEs through reflective learning cultivates these qualities, empowering you to refine your professional practice while driving progress in healthcare as a whole. As we evolve individually, our growth ripples outward, shaping the future of medicine.

“Because of constantly changing technology, policy, demographics, and illness trends, health care professionals who are self-directed will be better situated to stay current in their field.”

— Tennessee Research and Creative Exchange

SapienCE challenges healthcare professionals to embrace their Inner Sage through reflective exercises, thought-provoking resources, and collaborative discussions. By fostering growth and evolution, we create a movement of ever-curious clinicians who redefine patient care, develop innovative solutions, and lead the shared pursuit of excellence. Together, we go beyond thinking outside the box—we shatter  it entirely.

Meet Our Team

Chief Brand Officer (Writes Word & Makes Shit Up . . . Like her title)

Karen DiMarco is a bit of a wild card. She believes that authenticity is the laxative for connection, communication, and inspiration. She writes her bio in the 3rd person like a normal arsehole, but she’ll tell you about it (see what she did there?).

After graduating with honors from the University of Michigan, Karen has spent the 30+ years of her nursing career in the clinical specialties of ICU & Trauma nursing; as an Independent RN Patient Advocate (iRNPA, Integrative Wellness and Transformational Coach; and multiple endeavors in research and business as a ‘NursePreneur’.

Curiosity is her superpower, and creativity is the machete she uses to cut through the antiquated bullschizzle of how the world says things ‘ought to be.’She credits her success to the family, friends, and colleagues behind her, saying: “if it' weren’t for them I’d be strung out in a gutter next to a pile of books and podcasts, muttering ideas at passers-by, with no hope for their manifestation.

She speaks on an international stage about a variety of topics, especially her research project published in the APA Journal - Spirituality in Clinical Practice, published in 2020, about her proprietary approach to helping individuals suffering with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome to finally heal..

The thing that makes her leap out of bed in the morning is helping others to achieve their greatest level of health, happiness, and human potential…preferably with lots of snort-laughing along the way.

Meet Karen DiMarco,

RN, BSN, iRNPA, CMTC

Meet Ciera Dube

RN, BSN, IRNPA, CNOR

Director of Operations & Customer Relations (Chief Wheel Greaser)

In high-school Ciera Dube took one of those quizzes that tell you what you already know about yourself, specifically about: ‘risk aversion,’ and she won the gold medal. Like, if risk aversion was on that allergy scratch-test thingy? Someone would’ve needed to call 9-1-1 because Ciera’s tongue instantly swelled-up. But as John Shedd said (important dude from the 1920s that people quote to prove they read): “A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for.” Some people wait for their ship to come in... the world was just waiting for Ciera to leave port.

The branches of trees with strong roots are able ‘take risks,’ and spread far. Ciera’s faith in God nurtured her ‘roots,’ and gave her the courage to not only take risks, but also made her a formidable opponent to injustice. So at the ripe ol’ age of 30, discouraged by screaming surgeons, and bewildered patients - vulnerable to a broken system that stymied her efforts to improve their experience and outcomes, she said  “Nuts to this!”, and started her own business as an RN patient advocate. (Proving that the test she took in highschool was meant for acorns, not Oak Trees.)

Organization and pragmatism are her superpowers, and why SapienCE, and her life-as-mom to 2 little boys, run like a well-oiled machine. We also wanted her on the team to pray for us, frequently (and she gets a big-fat bonus if Karen doesn’t spend eternity in the blazing fires of hell.)

Speaking of bonuses, other cool things about Ciera: She sprouted in the Pacific Northwest (best place in the world,) then her family moved to Manilla, Philippines. After graduating from an international school at 18, her love for nursing blossomed while volunteering at a free medical clinic. The beach, breakfast-dates with her husband, hot Chia on a fall day, rambunctious little boys, a home full of laughter, and cooking for friends and family, are the things that make life, HER life.

“Tradition becomes our security, and when the mind is secure it is in decay.”― J. Krishnamurti
